Adventure Photographer & Filmmaker
Jimmy Chin is an Asian American professional mountain athlete, National Geographic photographer, Academy Award-winning filmmaker and author. His expedition work spans all seven continents and combines high-altitude climbing, skiing and adventure with visual storytelling for magazines, books and global campaigns. With Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, he co-directed films including Meru and Free Solo, the latter winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Chin lives in Jackson, Wyoming, and continues to work across still photography, directing and large-scale expedition projects.
